POSITION SUMMARY:  The Detox Program is funded by revenue appropriated by the State of Florida and Okaloosa County and your employment is contingent upon continued funding of this program.

Recovery Nurses provide hands-on care to patients with varying degrees of mental illnesses and/or developmental disabilities. They perform a vital, front-line function as they observe, treat, and interact with patients. They coordinate care and services as needed. They report back on how the treatment is working or any unusual symptoms that need professional attention.

BCI Recovery Nurses participate in both the planning and implementing of patient Treatment Plans. Tasks will include interviewing patients, assisting patients with questions about their medications, making referrals to other internal BCI departments, assist with daily tasks, and gathering information. 

New associates receive training, mentoring, and coaching throughout the onboarding process.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:    Clear and Active FL Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN). Specific experience in psychiatric treatment is preferred. Must have or be eligible to receive the HIV/AIDS 501 certification within one (1) year of employment. Bilingual (Spanish & English) applicants are preferred. Candidate must be able to pass an Agency for Healthcare Administration (AHCA) Medicaid and Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) Level II background screening, a drug screening, and a Tuberculosis (TB) test. Applicant must also have a valid Florida Driver License with no more than three (3) points on their driving record and be able to be insured under BCI’s automobile insurance policy.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:   We are seeking highly motivated and high-performance applicants that want to learn and grow in our industry. We are excited to meet interested potential teammates. BCI offers competitive salaries and benefits. Main job tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist Providers
  • Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) software for patient medical record
  • Complete documentation within required timeframes
  • Monitor Substance Abuse withdrawals symptoms as well as Psychiatric progress notes for actionable items
  • Processes medication requests and collaborate with Prescribers
  • Document medication record to include any changes or revisions
  • Completes prior authorizations for patients as needed
  • Completes Outcome measures upon client admission and discharge.
  • Other task as needed

WORK LOCATION:   Fort Walton Beach (FWB)

WORK HOURS:   4 day work week of 1pm-11pm
Rotating every third weekend
Rotating working Holidays
 

WAGE:   The wage for this position is $26.00 per hour.
