Clayton was born in Miami, Florida to a military family. While Clayton’s father served in the Marines and the Army, their family resided in several locales both throughout the United States, as well as abroad. Clayton graduated from the University of Georgia with his Bachelor’s in Business Administration. He was employed as a Senior Auditor for the State of Georgia before returning to Florida.

Clayton has worked at Bridgeway Center since 2006, starting as the Financial Coordinator for the HUD Program. After serving in various positions in Finance and Accounting, Clayton was promoted to Vice-President of Finance in 2020. He received his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with an emphasis in Accounting from the University of West Florida (UWF) in 2022 and was promoted once more to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) effective August 2022.
