Please join us in congratulating Antinicka “Nicka” Harris, LPN, Recovery Nurse, for earning the title of Employee of the Month for January 2023. Nicka was selected for this award by the members of BCI’s Program Leadership. It is with great pride and excitement that we award Nicka this distinguished recognition. Nicka started at Bridgeway Center, Inc. (BCI) in October 2022 and has been an essential part of BCI’s team.
Nicka was nominated by her supervisor, Haily Wireman, who said, “I would like to nominate Recovery Nurse Antinicka Harris. Nicka has stepped up when there has been a staffing shortage. She is currently working every single day (5 ten-hour shifts) that she can to make sure detox has a nurse on staff for the safety of our clients. Nicka goes above and beyond by physically going out to the streets to talk to current and non-current clients to just make sure they are ok, to remind them that we are here for them and that someone cares about them. Nicka shows initiative to produce better ways to care for our clients. She comes to work with a positive and calming attitude no matter what she is feeling because she knows the clients we are serving are at their lowest and need us to be at our best. Nicka has been kind, resourceful, and helpful to our fill-in staff and does everything she can to make it easier on them. Nicka shows a high level of professionalism consistently which is crucial with our detox staff.
