December Employee of the Month
Gladys Aeschleman, BS, Forensic Counselor

Please join us in congratulating Gladys Aeschleman, BS, Forensic Counselor, for earning the Employee of the Month award for December 2022. Gladys was selected for this award by the BCI’s Program Leadership members. With great pride and admiration, we award Gladys this distinguished designation. Gladys started at Bridgeway Center, Inc. (BCI) in May 2021 and has been an essential part of BCI’s Pre-Trial Unit.

Gladys was nominated by her supervisor, Matthew Pearce, who said, “I would like to nominate Gladys Aeschleman for Employee of the Month. I know that she may be unknown to many of the staff throughout Bridgeway, but that is because she is busy being the backbone of the Pre-Trial Unit, working from 11 pm until 7 am 5 days a week. At night while we are resting, she works and ensures that the clients are safe without any other staff to back her up. She works on holidays, pulls the most overtime probably of any staff, and works through bad weather. She is never late and will come in early when a staff member doesn’t have the energy to stay until her time. She will stay late to ensure that clients can go to early morning doctors’ appointments, morning staff has support, and help with parts of the job that require two staff. While the rest of us were preparing for Christmas, she worked 14 days in a row, including Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (in the middle of it). She can de-escalate situations with the clients to ensure their safety and the safety of other clients consistently. She does all this while also tirelessly advocating for the other staff to be taken care of. Throughout December, she ensured that other staff had time off with their families while sacrificing her time with her own. She advocated for our clients and went into overdrive to ensure that a client whose father became terminally ill could cope with the news and ensure that he could get to and from the airport to visit him before his passing. Throughout December, and every other day that Gladys has worked at Bridgeway, she puts the clients first while maintaining a boundary that allows the clients to know they can approach her, but also have the respect of her position.”

Gladys, you are an invaluable member of our team, and your dedication and commitment are a vital link to our operations.
