Independent Living Program (ILP)

Helping homeless persons achieve the highest degree of independent living.

ILP helps homeless achieve greater independenceThe Independent Living Program (ILP) is provided through a Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Grant.  It is designed to promote, through the use of a Continuum of Care strategy, the development of supportive housing.

These services are to assist chronically homeless persons in the transition from homelessness to the highest degree of independent living.

Assistance and support provided to homeless persons is aimed at four overall  goals:

  • To achieve permanent housing
  • To increase skill and/or income levels
  • To obtain greater self-determination
  • To achieve independence

After placement, rent is charged based on individual income as set forth by HUD guidelines.  Services are provided through the grant funding to help each individual maintain stability in the community.

All tenants have a Case Manager and Life Skills Coach to help them achieve their desired goals as well as maintain permanent housing.
