 Emergency Behavioral/Psychiatric – Crisis Services
Bridgeway Center, Inc. (BCI) Emergency Services located at 205 Shell Ave. Ft. Walton Beach welcomes walk in appointments 24/7. The phone number, 833-9200, always answered by a trained staff member 24/7. Individuals in crisis will be screened for situations that may warrant Baker Act or immediate psychiatric hospitalization. Emergency Psychiatrist appointments can be accessed Monday thru Friday via this screening. If the individual does not meet Baker Act criteria they may be referred to Soundside Wellness Consultants (SWC) for additional out-patient services. Private Insurance will be utilized along with required co pays for the additional out-patient services at SWC. Individuals found to be in need of medical care will be referred to Ft. Walton Beach Medical Center.
Emergency Services provides:
- crisis intervention
- screening for potential hospitalization
- assessment and/or placement arrangement for voluntary and involuntary clients
- brief therapeutic intervention
- appropriate referral to other Bridgeway Center, Inc. programs or community agencies pursuant to the client's needs
Emergency Services provides for the appropriate assessment and/or placement of clients meeting the Baker Act criteria and requiring emergency crisis psychiatric hospitalization as defined by Florida Statutes, Chapter 394.
