24 hour/7 day a week crisis intervention and rape victim assistance only a phone call away

Crisis Hotline Volunteers are Only a Phone Call AwayThe Crisis Hotline of Bridgeway Center is a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week critical not-for-profit Crisis Hotline intervention and referral service.

  • Calls are confidential and anonymous
  • Staffed by a pool volunteers from 8 am to 10 pm
  • Bridgeway's personnel take calls from 10 pm to 8 am
  • Computerized referral database lists over 550 agencies.
  • Crisis Hotline is the point of contact for the Sexual Trauma Team (STT)

The Rape Crisis Center coordinates a comprehensive array of services for victims of sexual assault.  The focus is on a safe, soothing, nurturing environment for connection with a victim advocate through the Bridgeway Sexual Trauma Team (STT). Services provided by the Rape Crisis Center include:

  • information on victim's rights
  • law enforcement information gathering
  • connection with family/friends through staff assistance
  • assistance with victim's crime compensation
  • information on court procedures and referrals for counseling

About Our Crisis Hotline Volunteers

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must undergo a background check.
  • Must sign a confidentiality Statement
  • Must sign an Affidavit of Good Moral Character
  • Must complete a 30 hour training class and at least 12 hours of monitoring
  • Volunteers are required to receive six hours of additional training annually

Funding for the Crisis Hotline/Rape Crisis Center

We receive funding from a variety of sources, including but limited to:

  • United Way of Okaloosa & Walton Counties
  • Municipalities of Niceville, Destin, Valparaiso, Mary Esther, Cinco Bayou
  • Grants including: Florida Rape Crisis Trust Fund, Florida Council Against Sexual Violence, Florida Department of Health.
