Summary

Bridgeway Center, Inc., with funding from SAMHSA, is sponsoring a two-day conference on co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders, featuring the renowned Dr. Minkoff as the primary speaker.

Conference registration price also includes excellent breakfast and lunch buffets provided for both days. Guests applying before September 30th may also take advantage of Early Registration price, and a special hotel rate at Embassy Suites Destin (see below for more information).

Early Registration is available until end of day September 29, 2008 and costs $189.

Normal Registration is available after September 29 and costs $209.

Special Hotel Rate

The special Bridgeway Center conference suite rate at Embassy Suites is $94.00 plus applicable taxes until September 29, 2008. Add $10 more for each additional adult over two in a suite.

The available suites accomodate up to 6 adults and are available on a first come, first-served basis. Reservations must be made by calling the hotel directly or going online (see hotel information at right).

Conference Speakers

Kenneth Minkoff, M.D.

Dr. Minkoff is a board-certified psychiatrist with a certificate of additional qualifications in addiction psychiatry; a dedicated community psychiatrist, and currently is a clinical assistant professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and a senior systems consultant for ZiaPartners in San Rafael, CA.

He is recognized as one of the nation's leading experts on training and consultation on integrated treatment of individuals with co-occurring psychiatric and substance disorders, and on the development of integrated systems of care for such individuals.

Susan Walch

Dr. Susan Walch, a clinical psychologist and faculty member of the Psychology Department at the University of West Florida, has two decades of clinical, research, and advocacy experience in HIV prevention and HIV/AIDS care, with emphases on behavioral interventions to reduce HIV risk, behavioral correlates of HIV risk, and psychosocial aspects of coping with HIV infection and AIDS diagnosis. As a HOPE Trainer for the American Psychological Association, Dr. Walch trains mental health providers on HIV/AIDS.

Lenore Wilson

Lenore Wilson, Executive Director of the Okaloosa Walton Homeless Continuum of Care/ Opportunity, Inc., has over 11 years experience coordinating services and care for the homeless. As Executive Director, she coordinates the services of over 60 faith-based and non-profit agencies assisting the homeless, supervises an annual census of homeless persons, provides community awareness, and procures funding for homeless services. Previously, she developed and maintained community partnerships for Bridgeway Center, Inc.
